2015 Year in Review

2015 was another incredible year for the W&Y Homes Co. Team, we spent a lot of time evaluating new marketing systems, a client concierge plan and had the pleasure having some great new team members join us. As we enter into 2016 we reflect back to some of the events that shaped our year.

We got the opportunity to participate in over 100 Real Estate transactions and were lucky enough to work with some really incredible new and repeat clients.

We participated in a couple of courses and conferences to refine our skills including Ninja Selling training, Inman New York Conference (more on that below) and the Goodfellow Millionaire Team Summit.

Kevin and April are huge fans of the Inman conference and despite a nasty snow storm decided to attend the event in New York in January. Stacey Fulton joined us and has been a long time friend of April’s having worked together at another brokerage when they were starting their careers. Despite the storm they had an amazing time in New York eating, shopping (we bought a lot of shoes and visited every Cole Haan store on the island of Manhattan) and our brains were about to explode with all of the valuable information we learned at the conference. We also got to know Stacey better and knew she would be the perfect asset to our team and luckily she said YES when we asked her to join us. We are so happy to have you part of the W&Y Homes Co. Team Stacey

In February our long term assistant Amelita Altments gave birth to a beautiful baby boy named Hudson and has embraced her new role as mother. We miss you Amelita but our lucky to have frequent visits from Hudson and you.

On March 29th we held our client appreciation Bowling Party at Bowlerama in Etobicoke. 97 clients and their families came and bowled the afternoon away with us. It was so much fun and a big thanks to our trusted mortgage broker Jake Abramowicz for throwing the party with us.

In April there was a huge change, we officially became registered as our own Real Estate Brokerage - Royal LePage Terrequity W&Y Homes Brokerage. This is a big accomplishment and it took many months to make it happen. We would not be able to have this opportunity without the help of Andrew Zsolt of Royal LePage Terrequity and we will continue to be affiliated with the Terrequity family.

We also had the pleasure of having Michelle Hernandez join our team as our Administrative Assistant and Client Care Representative in April. Having worked for our head office Michelle is a Real Estate master and a valuable part of the W&Y Homes Co. Team.

We worked with a variety of clients this year which included builders, investors and many first time home buyers. The market was not always friendly and many of our buyers had to compete in multiple offers to get their dream homes but it always worked out in the end. We also worked with a lot of investors that wanted to expand their Real Estate portfolios and helped make their income property dreams happen.

Kevin and April also bought and sold their own properties this year and have settled into their new homes, both in the West End of Toronto.

We made a hard decision to completely revamp our marketing campaign and focus only on online marketing. Admail is no longer part of our vocabulary. It has taken a while to get results, but our new plan is slowly working. Part of our online marketing includes our continued commitment to social media campaigns which include Facebook (as of today we have 1781 followers - Thank you!) Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and LinkedIn. We are also continuing to blog about real estate info we feel will be valuable to our clients.

We stayed true to our 100% satisfaction guarantee and continued to expand our client concierge program. All of our listings now include cleaning, staging, professional photography (including lease listings), home inspection, full marketing campaigns, open houses and our as always 24hr/ 7 day a week availability guarantee. We will continue to perfect our satisfaction guarantee and expand with whatever we need to do to help our clients. Our goal will always be for our clients to have an amazing and fun real estate experience.

When we realized we could no longer manage our leasing requests we were lucky to find Sean Kin to handle all of our inquiries. Thank you Sean for all of your hard work, anyone that gets to work with you is very lucky!

In September April had a huge life change and welcomed her baby girl named Winnie. She took some time off to concentrate on Winnie but was quick to introduce her to the Real Estate world. Winnie has already been witness to some great meetings and April may have a future Real Estate Agent on her hands.

In November and December we held our annual food drive and we were able to raise over 1900lbs of food for The Daily Bread Food Bank. Thank you to everyone that participated! Unfortunately we had to cancel our annual BBQ to raise money for Toronto Animal Services because of a rain storm but promise to bring it back full force next year.

We believe in a healthy work/life balance and took the time to revitalize with some vacations. Kevin visited NYC, Belize, Dominican Republic, Michigan and spent some much needed time at the cottage with his family. Stacey toured Italy and Spain with friends and went to NYC. Michelle spent the holidays in England and Scotland and April went to NYC, babymooned in Mexico and spent time in Florida with her newly expanded family.

Watch out 2016! Here is a sneak peak of some things we have planned:

The W&Y Homes Co. Team is hiring and we are looking to expand our team with experienced and new agents.

We have big plans for a very fun client appreciation day we will be holding in July.

We will continue to expand our online presence with new features such as video blogs, podcasts and online seminars.

We will hold a lot more seminars at our office and continue our seminars for First Time Home Buyers and Investors. If you have any ideas of anything you would like to learn at our seminars please share them with us.

We will continue our commitment to fundraisers such as our annual BBQ for Toronto Animal Services and the food drive for The Daily Bread Food Bank.

We are excited to attend more conferences this year to expand our network of agents not only in Canada but throughout North America.

Most importantly we will continue to work hard to provide excellent service to all of our clients and want to thank everyone for your continued support.
