The news of the average detached home reaching $1,000,000 is scaring a lot of buyers, especially first time buyers. We don’t believe you have to spend a million dollars to live in the 416 area code and for the next few weeks we are going to showcase great Toronto neighbourhood where you can still buy for half that price. This week we feature three neighbourhoods in the East and West Ends of Toronto.
E03 - DANFORTH VILLAGE - EAST YORK
The Woodbine and Danforth area of Toronto still has some great homes priced under $500,000 although prices are creeping up quickly. Located next to the Bloor Subway line and 24hr buses along Woodbine this area allows for an easy downtown commute and is home to many parks, cafes and walking distance to the fantastic restaurants along the Danforth.
W06 - MIMICO & NEW TORONT0
Home to large lots and bungalows, this neighbourhood is a family paradise. Walking distance to the lake and many outdoor amenities such as parks, public pools, skating rinks and great schools. There has also been a revival along Lake Shore Blvd with new restaurants and cafe’s popping up. For commuters you would have to rely on the Islington or Kipling buses to take you to the Subway but there is also the 24hr street car along Lake Shore.
W03 - Caledonia-Fairbank
This neighbourhood is home to many bungalows and semi-detached homes. Walking distance to the cafe’s and restaurants of St. Clair Ave West, Earlscourt Park and the new Stockyards Shopping Centre. There is tonnes of opportunity here to renovate an older home and even get into a fully renovated home under $500,000. Caledionia- Fairbank just keeps getting better and better.
