Despite what the media may say there are still a lot of affordable neighbourhoods in Toronto. Explore five below where you can still buy a home for under $600,000

E04 - Clairlea - Birchmount

Located in the western part of Scarborough,  east of Victoria Park and along Danforth Ave, Clairlea-Birchmount is close to many amenities. Easy access to the TTC and many shops an restaurants along Danforth Avenue. Many of the homes are either bungalows or semi-detached houses with large lots as well which is making this neighbourhood very attractive to builders which is slowly driving up the price point for homes

 

W03 - Caledonia-Fairbank

This neighbourhood is home to many bungalows and semi-detached homes. Walking distance to the cafe’s and restaurants of St. Clair Ave West, Earlscourt Park and the Stockyards Shopping Centre. There is a tonne of opportunity here to renovate an older home and even get into a fully renovated home for under $600,000. 

 

E03 - Woodbine-Lumsden

The Woodbine-Lumbsden MLS district of Toronto still has some great homes priced under $600,000, although prices are creeping up quickly. Located near the Bloor Subway line and 24hr buses along Woodbine this family friendly neighbourhood allows for an easy downtown commute. It is also home to many parks, cafes and walking distance to the fantastic restaurants along the Danforth. 

 

W03 - Rockcliffe-Smythe

On the west side of the city the Rockcliffe-Smythe neighbourhood runs along Jane Street to the Humber River and his home to many older bungalows and large lots. The neighbourhood has been gradually changing over the last couple of years and more families are moving in and fixing up the older homes. The area has large amounts of green space and many parks. Transportation is easy with close access to the 401 highway and 24 hour transit.

 

W03 - Keelesdale - Eglinton West 

The new Eglinton LRT is driving up a lot of interest in the Keelesdale-Eglinton community. Mainly large bungalows and semi-detached homes this neighbourhood is attracting a lot of builders and investors who are taking the opportunity to fix up the homes or custom build new homes.
